The GS Mini-e Rosewood has become the standard-bearer among the GS Mini family, boasting a solid spruce top and layered Indian rosewood back and sides. With its smaller size and compact feel, the GS Mini offers incredible playing comfort and portability, making it easy to take your music with you without having to sacrifice good sound. Perfect for fireside jams, practice sessions, songwriting and playing with other musicians, the GS Mini-e Rosewood also includes a built-in ES-B pickup with an easy-to-read digital tuner. It ships with a padded gig bag.
A scaled-down GS that’s anything but small.
- Scaled-down Grand Symphony body
- Great for all playing styles
- Considered a modern-day parlor guitar
A rosewood veneer and layered construction present a beautiful aesthetic in a durable, affordable package.
Taylor’s layered backs and sides incorporate three layers of wood, featuring a middle core of poplar with a veneer on each side. While layered woods won’t produce quite as complex a sound as solid woods, they allow us to blend exotic looks with climate-resilient construction.
The soundboard choice for most guitars, Sitka spruce produces a broad dynamic range and accommodates a versatile range of playing styles.
As a guitar soundboard, or top, Sitka spruce is the tonewood standard of the modern era. It’s used on 85-90 percent of the guitars that Taylor makes. Its combination of strength and elasticity translates into a broad dynamic range, yielding crisp articulation and allowing for everything from aggressive strumming and flatpicking to fingerpicking. Sitka spruce is Bob Taylor’s personal favorite for an all-around great guitar.
The onboard pickup and preamp features a built-in tuner and 3-band equalizer
This version of our ES-B electronics incorporates Taylor’s Expression System 2 piezo design elements and features a multifunctional onboard preamp with a built-in digital chromatic tuner and active tone-shaping EQ control. The preamp/tuner unit features an LED display for tuning and low battery indication, along with a Volume control and 3-band EQ. The preamp/tuner is powered by a 9v battery. With an alkaline battery, battery life expectancy when using the preamp only is over 500 hours, and when using the tuner is over 50 hours. Plugging in the guitar will activate the battery. A low battery indicator on the LED display (located on the preamp circuit board) will light up when the battery reaches 4.5 volts.
