Description
Whether you’re an experienced player looking for a road companion or a new learner seeking a accommodating acoustic experience, the GS Mini is sure to spark your musical curiosity. A sonic cannon whose bold voice belies its small frame, the GS Mini Mahogany boasts a focused midrange tone with enough volume to perform solo or with other instruments. Comfortable to hold and play, this model’s compact size makes it a great choice for practicing on the road, open mic nights, jam sessions with friends and more.
GS Mini
A scaled-down GS that’s anything but small.
- Scaled-down Grand Symphony body
- Great for all playing styles
- Considered a modern-day parlor guitar
Layered Sapele
Taylor’s layered backs and sides incorporate three layers of wood, featuring a middle core of poplar with a veneer on each side. While layered woods won’t produce quite as complex a sound as solid woods, they allow us to blend exotic looks with climate-resilient construction.
Tropical Mahogany
Harder, denser woods like mahogany and koa that are used on the back and sides of a guitar are sometimes used as tops. Their stiffness initially translates into a bright tone and tends to need more play-in time to open up, but the more a mahogany-top guitar is played, the more it develops overtones that contribute to a fuller, richer sound. A mahogany-top guitar might appeal to rootsy players who like a little extra punchiness in their tone.
No Electronics
Whether you’re an acoustic purist or simply don’t need a pickup, we’ve got you covered.
We respect guitar players who know what they want-and what they don’t. Most Taylor models that come standard with acoustic electronics can be ordered without them. Just contact your local Taylor dealer and they’ll make it happen. The good news is that if you ever change your mind, our Service department can install a pickup. We will say that if you’re on the fence about it, or think you don’t need one right now, it’s nice to have-you never know when you might want to do some home recording or play that open mic night and cross it off your bucket list.
